REGISTRATION NOW OPEN! UAKN Atlantic Event – February 19-21, 2019

 For the UAKN Atlantic’s Conference
“Decolonizing the Academy Through Community-Driven Research”
Wu Centre, University of New Brunswick, Fredericton
February 19 – 21, 2019

Findings from the UAKN Atlantic’s 28 funded research projects (www.uakn.org) will help deepen our understanding of the needs and aspirations of urban Indigenous populations in Atlantic Canada. In addition to increasing the visibility of urban Indigenous populations, this conference will familiarize participants with:

  1. What community-driven research processes work;
  2. What institutional or colonial barriers are frequently encountered;
  3. How the research findings can inform policy and practice in ways that support self-government and self-determination; and
  4. What true reconciliation would look like.
